The magistrate’s records at SPRI tell us that Ivan was an AB (able bodied seaman) on the Satsa who suffered heart failure in the crew’s messrom.
He died in position 64° 40′ South 49° 50′ E and his body was transferred to the whaling factory Southern Harvester to be transported to South Georgia for burial.
