Commemorates Major G.E.H. Barrett-Hamilton Location Grytviken Church Major Barratt Hamilton was a biologist, researching whale biology at Leith, when he died of a heart attack. This memorial was placed in the Grytviken church in 2005 to replace an earlier marble plaque that has gone missing from the cemetery at Leith.

Memorial STRATFORD, Mark Location Grytviken Church Mark was stationed at King Edward Point in 1994/1995 as the Royal Marine Mountain Leader. Whilst there he joined a visiting expedition and climbed to the top of Mt Paget, the island’s highest peak, in January 1995 – only the fourth ascent. He died in a helicopter crash
